Sunset Condos ~Heaven's not far...
TESTIMONIALS When guests return, I always ask them what they enjoyed the most about their vacation and ask if there is anything we could do to improve our accommodations. Here is what they have to say:
|
JANUARY, 2007
1) What did you enjoy the most/the least about your vacation? The condo and having
our own space was wonderful so we really enjoyed that. I was originally thinking it was a bit farther
out from town than I expected, but the whole group agreed that having Space and beach to
ourselves was preferable. It was lovely, we all enjoyed being on the top floor with such a wonderful
view of the ocean, beach and surroundings.
2) Would you vacation again at Ambergris Caye? Why or why not? Yes. Shopping and
fun and meeting new people.
3) Would you stay at Sunset Resort again? Why or why not? Absolutely...from the whole
group. We truly enjoyed the casual elegance and freedom, beauty of the surroundings, and help
from all the staff. You know, somehow I forgot to read the book that is in the condo, and forgot
maid service was available. I'm certain that was my brain on holiday, so if Manolo could remind
people that is available, that would be handy. (The housekeeper or cooks or whatever people
need.) (Laugh) The guys teased me about bringing my yoga videos when we did not have a vcr.
The DVD was great, though. Definitely to be prefered.
Deb, Thanks so much. We had a wonderful time, enjoyed the space, cleanliness, sandy beach
and vibrant colors. We will enjoy staying there again when we come to San Pedro.
Sincerely Teresa Leberknight and Dale Hensel

Hello Deb,
We’ve been back for a while now, so I thought I should write you a note about our trip. In one word,
“INTOXICATING”!! We had a fabulous time. I was depressed the first two days back because I
wanted to still be in Belize. We basically had the beach to ourselves. We drove that golf car as far
south and as far north as the path would let us, checking out every inch of the island that we could.
We went parasailing, snorkeling and chartered a sailboat w/Captain and sailed over to Caye
Caulker. We met a lot of the locals too. The condo exceeded our expectations. The only thing we
did wrong was buy too many groceries. I recommend only buying liquor and a few staples. The
groceries were more expensive than expected. In the long run, it’s less expensive to eat out.
Unfortunately, the mosquitoes really liked me. I came home with over 50 bites. Not one hiccup with
our travel arrangements either. It was the “perfect” vacation. I have to admit, my boyfriend made it
a pretty special trip too.
We loved the jungle portion of our trip as well. Our accommodations also exceeded our
expectations. We had an outing everyday…..cave tubing, ruins, pottery cave….and more. I would
give Mopan River Resort 5 stars…and the whole trip ********** (10+ stars)!!
Thank you so much for helping us with our travel plans. We are so looking forward to our return
trip to Belize.
Happy Holidays

Deb,
We thought Belize was wonderful. I was going to email you anyway. I wrote a mini-novel in your
guest book, hoping to give newcomers some advice. We found it very helpful from what prior
people had written. We thought Belize was wonderful. We were surprised it rained so much and it
got so cold, but otherwise, we loved it. The diving was probably my favorite ever, the bone fishing
was spectacular and I’m sure the deep sea fishing would have been wonderful, had it not rained
and caused 10 foot waves. The accommodations were great. It was wonderful.
I’ve already recommend you and the condo, so I think that shows that we really were happy. The
people were so friendly.
Anyway, thank you so much for all your help. You made this trip easy, manageable and
consequently, fabulous for us. We truly appreciate your help and I’d be happy to recommend you
and your condo to anyone who needs a recommendation.
Thanks again.

1) What did you think about Belize?
Really enjoyed Belize. Ambergris Caye was very relaxed, and very relaxing. Sunsets were
spectacular. The restaurants we visited were fantastic - we particularly liked the Blue Water Grill. It
really was very different from other Carib. destinations we've visited. I felt safe and comfortable both
in town and at the resort. Once we discovered the non-tourist grocery store, we we all set. (Marina
Market was on our list every day)
2) What did you enjoy the most about your vacation?
Diving was the reason for our visit - it was really spectacular. We used Amigos Del Mar only, and
they were great. I love the pick up and drop off at our boat dock.
3) How were the accommodations?
The condo didn't lack a thing we could want. It had a great view, too. I loved the hammocks on the
balcony.
4) Would you recommend my services, Belize and the Condos to others? Why or why not?
Yes - I would definetly recommend your services. We were very pleased with the arrangements for
air to the Caye, the golf cart rental, and general information we received about diving - really any
questions we had, you handled quite well. Thank you for that!
Mike & Catherine Bailey
Hello Deborah!
We had no expectations for Belize. We were happy to find that the locals were so polite (waving at
every golf cart pass). The food was incredible! Lots of great restaurants with a wide range of
prices and tastes. The sandy roads were a fun experience. Fishing was a BLAST!! Our guide was
amazing and I would recommend him any day. The water and weather was PERFECT! Restaurants
that we would suggest: Wild Mango, Fido's, Victoria House, and Caliente's. We enjoyed eating and
fishing the most.
I would recommend your services FOR SURE!! You were able to squeeze us in at the last minute
which we were very grateful. It was nice that you suggested the plane trip to San Pedro versus the
boat ride (we heard that it was a long boat trip). You also gave us heads up about the golf cart.
THANKS!! I would recommend Belize because it's such a short trip from San Francisco. I would
recommend the condos. Thanks again for your help. We had an AMAZING Christmas and new
Years vacation and couldn't have been more pleased. Happy New Year to you!!

JANUARY, 2007
Hi Deborah,
I am Phillip's wife, we went with another couple, Jon and Tara - and what
fun we had!! Belize was beautiful, with perfect weather (even when the sky opened up
and a huge downpour erupted on us); and delicious food; most things were
expensive (our dollar does not go very far but it is nice to have such ease
with the local currency) and the expense did not stop me from vacation
shopping; and the locals were so nice. Genuinely nice, and helpful. It was
a relief to speak English everywhere and getting to know a few of the locals
enriched our experience.
I enjoyed the pace. There was enough to do, and not so much that I felt
like I was missing out on something if I did nothing at all.
Our typical day: Wake up, make our own breakfast, go diving or not, lay on
the beach or go exploring in the golf cart or on the bikes, get a massage or
not, find lunch (always delicious, especially Mango's on the beach and the
snapper Jon & Tara caught our last morning served up for us at Victoria
House), shop or sail or walk back along the beach to the condo, stop for a
drink in the pool at the yacht club, meander home, read a book or take a
nap, shower (big enough for two people!), drive into town for more food
(Fido's, the other Fido's, Elvi's, Caliente, all delicious!), have a few
drinks (Tackle Box), dance (again at Fido's) and go four-wheeling through
the mud puddles on the way home. Then maybe a movie in the room. Or more
reading until lights out.
The accommodations were perfect. Man, did we get lucky!! The bar was nice
to get a cold drink and a snack. The rooms themselves were just right for
one couple. And we had all of the kitchen appliances we needed: toaster, blender,
bottle opener, etc.
I would definitely recommend your services, Belize and the Condos to
others. Definitely! I'm sure Tara already mentioned this, but as we were traveling
there she realized how much trust she'd put in you to secure our connecting
flight in Belize, etc. We were so delighted when everything fell into place
without a hitch. Thank you! We will definitely be back to Ambergris Caye.

Melody

Hi Deborah,
I just wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful vacation in Belize. The condo was
great and the location was perfect. Carlos and Manolo took very good care of us. We will
definitely come back. We took the cave tubing tour and zip-line with Carlos and went
fishing with Pete. Have a great New Year and thanks again.
Sincerely,
Duane and Cynthia Connell

Deborah
I thought Belize was a wonderful place to visit. It was very relaxing and the locals were very nice.
The fishing and snorkeling was awesome and we hooked some very large tarpons. The best day
of the vacation was going out with Suya Tours and snorkeling around the reef and catching our
own lunch. I have never enjoyed fresh lobster, conch and snapper out on a secluded beach with
my friends. The accommodations were very nice. We did rent a golf cart and made several trips to
town. We did not want to go out to dinner every lunch and dinner. We finally figured out that the
people live off the ocean and once we starting catching fish that we shared with the locals at the
Tiki Bar the would cook it for us. Once we figured it out we were fine. Since this was not a resort
we were glad to have the Tiki Bar next door to hang out and meet people. We were there at one of
the slowest times of the year and the rainy season, but it hardly ever rained. The condos are very
quiet place to chill out and relax. I would recommend that a coin washer and dryer be available at
the condos. I would recommend the condos to anyone that really wanted to enjoy the ocean and
relax. Your services were great and the staff Manuelo and Carlos was very helpful in getting
anything that we needed. Our group will be back next year.

Deborah,
Sorry it took so long for me to reply! Life is crazy once you get back from vacation! Here
are the answers to your questions!
1)What did you think about Belize? - Belize was amazing. It was beautiful, remote, had
plenty to do, but at the same time you could retreat away to any hammock and just relax!
2)What did you enjoy the most about your vacation? - Honestly what made the vacation for
me were the people. Belize has some of the friendliest natives to island. Everyone was so
helpful and courteous to tourists, it was amazing! It was also great that island time was so
much slower than the hectic pace of American living. It was an excellent get-away
3) How were the accommodations? - More than perfect. It was us and one other couple
and we have already said that if we come back to Belize Sunset is where we want to stay
again. The view was a beautiful thing to wake up to and the grounds are very well kept.
4) Would you recommend my services, Belize and the Condos to others? Why or why not?
- In a heart beat! I actually have already passed your name on to several of my patients that
were playing with the idea of going to Belize. You and the people you work with, Manuelo,
Carlos, made my friends think that I was a professional travel agent!! Everything went
exactly as planned, and it made for a perfect vacation! Thank you!
Once again thank you for your help, and once we travel to several other places in the world,
we will come back to Sunset in Belize!
Thank you and God Bless,
Heather Heintschel!

Hi Deborah!
Everything was fabulous! We enjoyed ourselves so much and are sad to be home!
1) Belize is a wonderful country. We fell in love with it. It is so beautiful and Sunset condos
is a beautiful place to stay.
2) Our favorite parts about our vacation were the restaurants and our condominium. We sat
on the porch every night and enjoyed the evening weather.
3) The accomodations were everything we expected and more. It was perfect.
4) Yes, we would recommend your services and Sunset Condos to everyone. Everything
was completely perfect.
5) Thanks again for all of your help. Chapin, Manolo, Carlos, and everyone else were so
helpful and kind at all times. We had no problems at all. We felt right at home. We will
definitely want to stay at Sunset Condos next time we plan a vacation to Belize.
Kind Regards,
Justin and Kristy van Loben Sels

Hi Deborah,
We had an awesome time in Belize! We really enjoyed our stay at Sunset Condos. The
accommodations were perfect. We had plenty of room for our family and the view was
great!! Manuel drove us into town several nights and was very accommodating. Carlos
was also awesome and took us everywhere we wanted to go, (Snorkeling, Mayan Ruins,
Cave Tubing, Maruba), and my husband couldn't say enough about his uncle who took
them fishing. We will definitely be back and wouldn't think about staying anywhere but
Sunset Condos. You need a closer grocery store though!
Thanks for all your help! We'll probably see you if not next year, then definitely the year
afterward. Belize has become our favorite vacation spot!!

Hi Deb,
The vacation was great. We really enjoyed the condo and there was plenty of room for all of
us, therefore we did not get on each others nerves. Loved being right on the beach. My
mother-in-law gets up about 5:00 everyday so she saw the sunrise. She was the only one
to do that. Lots of great diving. We used Amigos del Mar the first day and we were not
happy with the attention they gave my son and me as we are still new divers. We used
Ecologic Divers the rest of the trip and LOVED them. Warm towels are given to you when
you get back on the boat and lots of personal attention. Try suggesting them sometime to
other people I believe they will be pleased. They made a CD of the pictures they took on
the dives and gave it to us on our last day with them. Our last full day we hired one of the
dive masters to take us out snorkeling, fishing, and a beach BBQ. He was great and we
had a great time. He cleaned the extra fish so we could cook them for our dinner. Again
they are great and if someone needs to rent the equipment theirs is all new. We used
Carlos to take our Aunt and Uncle out to Hol Chan to snorkel and they had never snorkeled.
Chris one of the guys that works for Carlos was great with them and they really had a super
time. Clara even rubbed the nurse shark! We really enjoyed it. Our favorite thing would be
the relaxing time we had with family and the diving. Least favorite would be the mosquitoes
and the rough roads. It rained a lot(Iknow it is the rainy season) but mostly at night even
though the wind did interrupt one day of diving. We are going to go back but we think we
will be doing the US Virgin Islands next year and Costa Rica the next so it will be a couple
of years. We would stay at Sunset Beach again. We loved being on the first floor and the
condo is very nice. I could not believe the amount of towels you had and we did not lack for
anything that I can remember except more time. We did go to Victoria House for dinner
and it was lovely. The food was great and the service was wonderful. Beautiful place.
Everyone on the island is friendly and we enjoyed it all.

August, 2006
Deb, sorry for the delay in getting back to you! Our vacation was fabulous. If I listed all the
things we did - it would take 1/2 the day. There is not one excursion that we regret or
wouldn't do again! We took nearly 400 photos and it was worth every dime!!!
Please see our notes below regarding your questions.
1) What did you think about Belize? We loved that it was not too commercialized
yet the local people were so accommodating! The water was warm, the food was great
and Carlos taking care of all of our tours was the bomb! The only thing we would do
different is take our kids and stay longer!
2) What did you enjoy the most about your vacation? We loved the snorkeling
trips we took, we loved the food and we loved the service. We liked being outside of town
and having our own little space. Driving a golf cart for a week was actually very fun and one
of the highlights of the trip. Everyone at the condos were nice and friendly. The pool decks
were cleaned and washed every morning. There was no litter around, they groomed the
beach area and if we ever had any problems or concerns there was someone who could
take care of them.
3) How were the accommodations at Sunset Condos in Belize? We loved A2....
It was clean and just the right amount of space for two people. We really didn't spend much
time in the condo.
4) Would you recommend my services, Belize and Sunset Condos to others?
Why or why not? It was so nice to know that our trip was all taken care of, from the
hopper flight over to the island, to the taxi to the condo, to the golf cart rental, all the way to
the return to the states. Everything was just like you said. We got off our flight, the taxi
driver was there before we could get the bags off the bench at baggage claim. He
explained everything about the condo and showed us around. The golf cart arrived just as
you said it would and frankly the Moncha Carts that you rent run better than the other carts
our friends rented. Everything went like clockwork and it really took the stress off going to a
new and foreign location! We will recommend your services to our friends!
We will be going back and taking our kids - it will be very educational and they are going to
have a blast!
We can't say enough about Carlos and his crew. He makes every excursion exciting, and
pleasurable and takes such good care of everyone. He makes sure you get to see
everything and more! Please tell him hello for us - He is Awesome!
Thank you so much for all you did for us - we will see you again!
Sincerely, Kimberly & Corey King
August, 2006
Hey Debbie -
I keep meaning to write you and thank you for the
great trip we had. Even though I got a little gun-shy
in the beginning about the golf - cart stuff - it
turned out that you guys really WERE trustworthy and
professional
Everything from our flights to our check in to our
condo to all of the people who picked us up (taxi) to
golf cart drop off and pick up to Carlos and company
who took us snorkeling daily were all PERFECT.
Friendly - professional - just cannot say enough. And
you were absolutely correct about that golf cart -
could not have imagined NOT having it!!
I have traveled A LOT and I cannot recall a trip
better organized. Your team has hand-picked an
excellent staff to ensure tourists get a great
experience.
We hope we showed that appreciation in the large tips
we gave to all....EXCEPT later we realized we should
have left something for the house cleaners!!! Over
site...but WE DID wash all dishes and left the place
very nice before we left - so hopefully that lessened
their load some.
Anyway - just wanted to say thanks!! We are planning
another trip ...this time to Roatan Honduras. If you
also plan that..let me know!
Sincerely
Joslyn Marty

Hi Deb,
Thank you so much for all of your efforts in coordinating our trip to Belize! The 7 of us had
an absolutely wonderful time (that we of course documented in the guest book) and I could
not have dreamed of a better place to spend my 30th birthday. Some of my friends even
got to 'pet' the local crocodile! Chompin was very accomodating and helpful, Manuel was
prompt and provided great service and the condo and beach were more beautiful than I
had imagined. I highly recommend staying at Sunset Condos for a larger group of friends
that would prefer to stay together rather than in separate hotel rooms. The golf carts proved
to be great fun as well as a dependable mode of transportation into town. Thanks again -- I
look forward to returning to the wonderful island of Ambergis Caye and Belize.
Sincerely,
Jennifer

Debbie,
I want to thank you so much for a wonderful place in
Belize. We all had such a great time. The first day,
Carlos across the street took us on a snorkle trip, a
BLAST! The second day, four of us girls ventureed to
the Mayan Ruins, Laminai. I wish we would have had
several more days. The people of San Pedro are great
yes, we met a ton! You have a great place and we will
be back!
Thanks again,

April, 2006
Hi, Deborah ... the trip was FANTASTIC! We'll be back! Below are the answers to
your questions:
1) What did you think about Belize? The people of Belize were the warmest and
friendliest of any place I have been. There were so many things to do ... diving,
fishing, rain forest excursions, tours of ruins, etc.
2) What did you enjoy the most about your vacation? The diving was awesome. The
only thing I would suggest is that you refer people to Ecological Divers rather than
Ambergris divers. We met people on the beach who were not happy with
Ambergris, so we shopped around in town and found Ecological. They were
superb ... very customer oriented, similarly priced, and attentive to each customer
and their unique needs and desires.
3) How were the accommodations at Sunset Condos in Belize? Perfect! The condo
was nice, clean, private yet close to town and activities. Carlos was easy to get
ahold of and had a lot of ideas on what to do. We've been to all-inclusive places,
and this was so cool because there was not blaring music and a zillion people.
4) Would you recommend my services, Belize and Sunset Condos to others? Why or
why not? We've already been telling people about the property! I highly
recommend Sunset Condos. In fact, at the airport in Dallas we were talking to a
guy who was arranging a trip to Belize and took down your information.
July, 2006
Deb,
I thought Belize was great . The peace and quit and the friendly people were great. The
accommodations and service were excellent , ,and as for your service I would defiantly
recommend you and the condos.
Thanks AGAIN!!!! George
April,2006
Hello Deborah, This is Gary..
1) What did you think about Belize? Belize was great! It certainly met all our
expectations, and then some. There are a lot of places in the world that I have not
been, and I want to see as many as I can, while I can. Therefore, I don't often return
to places I have already been. However, Belize will be one of the exceptions.
Speaking for my wife and I, it really would like to return some day.
2) What did you enjoy the most about your vacation? For Eileen and I, our 6 days at
the jungle lodge (DuPlooy's) were the highlight of our trip. The Mayan ruins, the
abundant wildlife, the (incredibly) bug-less jungle, and the people and facilities of
the lodge were fabulous. This is not to imply in any way the beach portion was not
terrific. It's just the Cayo District was truly unique.
3) How were the accommodations at Sunset Condos in Belize? The Sunset Condos
were perfect for us! Plenty big, great location, hardly any people around, and the
help we got from Manuel and Carlos were invaluable. They (especially Manuel),
could not have been better. He was there for us every time we needed to go
someplace, always right on time, gave us good suggestions for shopping, etc.,
and would have done just about any favor we needed. Carlos's snorkeling trips
were the best we've had. As well as the reef (which was about as good as it gets),
his guides/drivers were especially helpful and friendly, definitely not the run of the
mill tourist-oriented types. It was like going out with your cousin. Carlos also set
us up with a nice half-day fishing trip with his Uncle.
4) Would you recommend my services, Belize and Sunset Condos to others? Why or
why not? I would most definitely recommend your services and the condo,
especially if several couples such as we had were to go down there together.
BTW, what is the summer rate for the one-bedroom, should my wife and I be able
to get down there again soon?
Thanks, Gary.
April, 2006
Hello Deborah ~
1) What did you think about Belize? Belize was wonderful! It is beautiful and fairly
clean (meaning there wasn't a lot of trash left on the streets and on the beaches). I
believe the restaurants and services (excluding Sunset Condos) were over-priced.
2) What did you enjoy the most about your vacation? What I like best about Belize
was there was no need to rush. Time was never an issue. There was really not
much of a schedule.
3) How were the accommodations at Sunset Condos in Belize? The
Accommodations were nice and the price to rent a Sunset Condo was reasonable.
One thing that was a little frustrating was the distance from the Condo into the
heart of the city...It would have been nice if the golf carts were part of the condo
package. I'd even pay more if they were included in the package.
4) Would you recommend my services, Belize and Sunset Condos to others? Why or
why not? I would ABSOLUTELY recommend your services and Sunset Condos! I
can't wait to go back next year.
Thank you,
JoJo Warner

Hi Deb,
Here's a quick response to your email, San Pedro is absolutely a great place to
vacation. From the locals throwing chickens to the gators (interesting that no one
has lost an arm or leg) to the fantastic way that the locals make you feel welcome.
(What a laid back place) A very relaxing atmosphere.
The best part for us was the snorkeling over brilliantly colored coral and unique
fish. Swimming with nurse sharks and stingrays was awesome.
Would I go back to Belize? absolutely. As far as your service and help, it was
fantastic, from our initial inquiries to the help with our flights and certainly your
efforts in helping to find my luggage.
Thanks again and we certainly will recommend you in the future.

Deb,
What we enjoyed most: the beautiful, peaceful pool and beach. We had the
place to ourselves! We loved the casual, easy going lifestyle. The people were
extremely nice and helpful.
We liked Sunset condos location and the beautiful, "uncrowded"
pool and beach area. We liked that BC's is next door for snacks and drinks.
(I like having daquiries nearby!). Carlos was very helpful with lining up
snorkel trips and just a really nice guy. Also, my parents locked themselves
out on our first day there, and Melinda was available and fast at getting
them back in.
Would we recommend you & Belize? Absolutely. I think it may not be for everyone
(those who don't like riding bumpy roads in golf carts), but we loved it and
hope to go back.
Janet B.
April, 2006
Deborah,
We had a great time in Belize! I enjoyed the people of Belize the most as they are
truly sincere and helpful. Swimming with the sting rays and sharks was very rare
and a memorable experience. It is a beautiful country and I'm sure will become
more popular as more people visit it. The Sunset Condos were overall a great
place to stay. They were far enough away from town that you had some privacy
but yet close enough that you could bike or cart in to town. .. I would recommend
Sunset Condos to others. As far as suggestions to make things better for our stay,
I would have appreciated getting two sets of keys rather than one as we were
given. When two couples are sharing a unit they don't always have the same
schedules. Additionally, I had to turn the bike lock key in to Chopin at night and get
it from him in the morning the next day. I understand that they needed to be
locked up and I did so at Sunset and in town. I just think maybe a second key
could be made and if there is a sign up system or deposit to be put on the bikes,
that would be fine.
Deb, thank you for your help in our vacation as we did have a very enjoyable time.

We most enjoyed the peaceful relaxing atmosphere and the friendly people. The
weather was perfect. Thank you!

March 22, 2006
Deb,
Thank you very much for following up with us. My husband and I truly enjoyed
ourselves. I think the best thing about the vacation was the solitude, and not
feeling that there were people all around you as we have felt at some resorts.
Laying on the lounge, we felt like we were in paradise!
The freedom to explore the town was fabulous. We have been on several
vacations where the resort encourages you NOT to leave the resort. It was fun to
ride bikes into town and feel very comfortable with the gracious locals!
Not only would we return, we have encouraged many people to explore Belize. I
will put a posting on Tripadisor.com, a web site that we use as a reference tool
when planning our trip. No worries, it will sing praises of both the island and the
condos.
Thanks again for a lovely vacation!
Mary and James Brooks
March, 2006
Dear Deb,
We had a wonderful time! The condo is beautiful. Chompin is terrific! And Carlos
was a wonderful tour guide as always - professional and a lot of fun. Thank you
for all you did for us! I will be in touch about next year. Thank you again!
Jennifer
March, 2006
Deborah,
Thank you for following up with us regarding our trip to Belize. We had a fantastic
time! Here are the answers to your questions:
1) The thing we enjoyed the most about our vacation was the lack of
commercialism and large hotel chain resorts (Marriott, Hilton, McDonalds, Pizza
Hut, etc) that you find in other areas. We also enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere.
The locals were extremely friendly and went out of their way to make us feel
welcome.
2) Yes, we will be back! Loved that the condo's were out of the way and the
resort was small (more of a relaxed environment). Also liked that BC's South was
located right next door. The condo's were clean and well maintained. Chopin was
a very nice man who didn't hesitate to help us out when requested.
3) Yes, I would recommend Sunset to others but not to the young, nightlife
crowd. We would recommend it to families and older people looking to relax.
Clean, beautiful view and nice beach. Loved the hammocks.
Looking forward to our next trip. Keep us in mind if you represent any other
condos or if there are any new changes that occur with Sunset Condos.
Thanks again.
Ariel
February 2006
Hi Deb,
Let's see, the most enjoyable part of the vacation was how relaxing it was. That
was the least stressed I have been in years.
The condos were great, everything was as advertised. The other residents were
friendly and Carlos and his crew are unbelievable. We had a lot of fun visiting with
him as well as the excursion to Lamanai. I would definitely recommend the condos
to others and actually already have.
We are planning on making the trip again next year, probably with more friends as
well.
Mike.
February, 2006
Deborah,
We cannot tell you how much we enjoyed the condo's, Carlos, Chopin, Ambergris
Caye, San Pedro and Belize. Our 5 year old wants to move there when he gets big!
I'm afraid the bar has been raised for what a beach vacation is 'supposed' to be in
the minds of both of the boys! Thank you and Mary so much for arranging the
transport and everything...
We are not sure when, but do know that another trip down there is in order - too
many good people and too much more to see to not go back!
Thanks for sharing such a special place,

Deborah,
I probably enjoyed my time in the hammock more than anything else! I enjoyed
meeting the people on Ambergris Caye; they were warm and wonderful,
especially Carlos and his family. We enjoyed snorkeling, walking the beach, etc.
Our one day in Belize City was not fun and I wouldn't recommend anyone go
there. I think it is dangerous.
The condo was great. One of the owners asked us what we would add and all of
us thought it would be nice to have a coin washer / dryer available. Otherwise, I
couldn't think of much.
I would recommend them to someone else. As for whether we will return or not,
probably not. There's a lot of the world I want to see so I'll probably work to that
end.

JANUARY, 2006
Deborah:
We enjoyed our stay very much. From meeting Mary, Chopin, Carlos, Emanuel
and others, I can tell you've put together a very nice place to stay with a good staff
of people to get us around the island.
It's likely most of your guests consider the merits of buying property when on
vacation, and I think that Sally and I are no different. We thought that from an
ownership standpoint, your location was about ideal. With a pool and easy access
to the ocean, plus the bonus of having so many tour operators willing to pick us
up right at the dock, we must say that it was very enjoyable. Any closer to town,
and I imagine that the foot traffic on the beach becomes a bit much.
We would not hesitate to recommend the property to others that we know. In fact,
perhaps we'd be a repeat customer if we visit the island again.
Joel, the bartender at BC's South, arranged a friend of his to take us fishing the
first day we were there, and we caught 29 fish, mostly yellow tail. From Mayan
ruins to scuba diving, we did all of the things we desired.
I don't know how I would suggest that anything could be improved, but if pressed,
perhaps I might suggest you check how well the television is working in our
condo. I think the remote may not work properly, and I think the available
channels were limited and not in good reception. I believe Chopin or Mary might
be looking into this further.
Again, thanks for allowing us to enjoy the property. We wish you well with it!

Deb,
We had a fantastic time in Belize. Here are the
answers to your questions:
San Pedro itself was great, its one of the coolest,
most laid back little towns, I've been to. However, I
liked the fact that we out of town a little - there
was a less hustle and bustle. Plus, as everybody on the trip will attest, I liked
driving the buggy around town.
I would vacation there again. It was very laid
back and relaxing and had a cool feel all the way
around. We had a great vacation there.
A diswasher would really add to the place. An
internet connection might have been nice too, but on the other hand I'm probably
glad we didn't have one.
I thought the condo was great overall.
Our trip to Belize was truly one of the best vacations I've taken in some time, so I
hope that you take the above suggestions/criticisms as constructive and an
attempt to make a great place even better. I've CC'd some of the other people on
the trip so that they can add any additional thoughts.
Best,
Rob
Deb,
I wanted to add as a side note to my brother Rob's comments (above). Manuel and
Carlos were very helpful and entertaining additions to our vacation. Manuel was
very helpful in aiding me to find my brother Rob the day of our arrival and made
sure that we got to Sunset Condos promptly. Carlos gave us an excellent snorkel
trip to the reef even towing my father around on a floating donut. It's a very nice
amenity to have a tour guide living right in your back yard.
As my brother stated, perhaps our best vacation ever and one of the few places I
really did not want to leave at the end of the week.
Thank you,
William Rutschow
Deb,
We first want to thank you for making our trip more successful with answering all
our questions. We really enjoyed the condo at Sunset and felt we had our own
private home and pool because we saw so little of anyone else! It was just the
perfect setting. We loved the contrast of Ambergris after our visit to Hopkins,
which was also very memorable but in a different way. The town of San Pedro was
great fun and we loved tooling about on the golf carts. The pace of life there is
certainly nice. Everyone was so friendly too. We will definitely look forward to
coming again and then maybe seeing more of the island....we enjoyed the beach
and diving so much that we hardly did anything else! The one comment I would
make on the condo is that it would have been nice to have a washer and dryer.
Mary was a very helpful to us in coordinating the cab, the golfcart rental (which we
had a ball on!) and any other questions and came by to meet us on arrival. She
made herself accessible and we appreciated having someone there to ask, should
something arise. Thank you again for all your help. We hope to be going to Belize
again and will certainly want to stay just where we did!
Thank you, Judy
DEB-MARK HERE-THANKS FOR LETTING US STAY AT YOUR PLACE! WE HAD

Hi Deb,
Thank you very much for letting us stay at your beautiful condo. Johnny and I
loved it and had a wonderful time.
I loved being able to just walk outside and have the ocean right there. We spent
most of our time at the condo on the steps. The view was spectacuclar and the
colors were amazing. I would love to visit Ambergise Caye again and it would be a
pleasure to stay at Sunset again.
We had a very busy schedule. We dived three days, went cave tubing and visited
the Mayan ruins - Laminai. The time just went too fast. (that is my only complaint)
The people on the island are very friendly and trustworthy. We had a great time.
Johnny may be back at the end of June.
Thank you so much
Sincerely,
Sandy
Dear Deb
We truly enjoyed our week at Sunset. The Condo was terrific - undoubtedly the
nicest we have stayed at in the last five years we have been taking trips south. I
don't think there is anything about it that you could improve. We had spent the first
week of our vacation on the main land which was very interesting and I think there
are some more things we would like to see in the northern part of the country.
Ambergris was meant to be very relaxing and it was. We very much enjoyed Carlos
and Alex. The snorkeling was fantastic and very reasonably priced. The only
things we felt were less than ideal was the fact the beach although beautiful was
not swimable because of the seagrass.. We made good use of the bikes and
rented a golf cart for a day. We ate out four nights and cooked in twice. We made
all our breakfasts and most of our lunches at the condo. We thought golf cart
rentals were somewhat excessive so we didn't use them anymore than the one
day.
I think you have a great place. I think you could market the snorkeling a little more
and the place is great for windsurfing - not that I do it but saw a fellow next door
take off from the beach and it looked like great fun. I would be happy to provide a
reference to anyone interested in staying at your place. I think we will be back in
two to three years. Next year is the time share in Mexico.
Yours truly
Richard Dickson
"Dear Deborah,
The most wonderful thing about our trip to Belize was the amazing variety of sea
life. We have snorkeled throughout the Caribbean, the east and west coast of
Mexico and the South Pacific. The snorkeling in Belize is second only to Tahiti.
With guides on the Hol Chan/Shark-Ray Ally tour we were able to pet nurse sharks
and a sting ray. We saw spiney star fish, a huge green eel, a jumbo hermit crab in
a conch shell, a giant turtle and many other creatures.

Deb - Let me tell you that our honeymoon trip to Ambergris Caye was completely
"unbelizeable!"
One recommendation for all of your future visitors: If you can book a norkeling trip
or excursion through Suya tours, ask for Gavino. He was fantastic! Very nice,
always on time and just a great guy all around.
Overall, this was a wonderful trip that we look forward to repeating.
Thanks again Deb for being so thorough, walking us through the process and
helping us to make sure that we covered all the details. Just what we needed,
especially in the midst of planning our wedding!
Thanks again!"
Pete
Deborah,
"This was our second trip to Belize and our first stay in San Pedro... having bikes
available was wonderful for grocery shopping and exercise, the pool was just the
right size to relax or swim, the beach was well maintained, the snorkling trips with
Carlos were fun, don't miss the 4:30 PM feeding of the 13f crocodile by the local
kids at the lagoon close by, rent a golf cart for at least a day, and take advantage of
the cayak and sail boat rental at a close by resort, and check out the iguanas at the
beach and the property next door. If you like to relax in quiet, comfortable
surroundings, this is the location for you!"

Hi Deb,
The vacation was excellent! We had four days of snorkeling, a two-day trip to
Guatemala, and a trip to Altun Ha... Overall, the experience was memorable. Thank
you for your assistance."
Best regards,
Robert
Deb,
"Our vacation last month to Ambergris Caye was truly memorable. The weather
was perfect, the water was perfect and the atmosphere was perfect. From the
moment we stepped off the plane everything and everyone was wonderful. Maybe
its because the island is small that you get an immediate sense of community. The
folks living on the Ambergris are some of the friendliest we have met anywhere.
When you pass on the street everyone smiles and warmly greets you."
A popular trip among my customers is the Tikal tour offered on my site through Tropic Air. Here is one
customer's response to his experience:
Deborah, the Tikal trip was superlative! There was a brilliant guide, who responded
to his interested, small party by having lunch on the go, permitting more time
among the temples. I have seen most of the world's archelogical treasures, and
Tikal, with our superb Mayan guide, did not disappoint."
Dr. Whitehead (A frequent traveler to Ambergris Caye)
A customer comments on the difference between Mexico and Belize. She writes
"I would LOVE to share my Belize information with your customers. My husband
and I have been to Playa Del Carmen in Mexico and stayed at the Royal Hideaway
Resort and Spa. It was very expensive and not NEARLY as enjoyable as Belize.
My husband and I flew into Belize City and then took a small sea plane to
Ambergris Caye (San Pedro). The people are very friendly and speak ENGLISH!
Someone once told me that when you get there you can take your shoes off and
not put them back on until you get ready to head back home. I didn't believe them
but it is soooooo true. We landed on a sand airstrip and received our
"roundtrip transportation" from the airport to the hotel. Our transportation
consisted of a barefoot guy in a golfcart. It was great. The water and
beaches are beautiful. We went to the ruins, snorkeling, snorkeling with the nurse
sharks at Shark Ray Alley, night clubbing at Barefoot Iguanas, cave tubing 20
miles from the Guatemala border. It was a true rustic experience. Everyone drives
Golf Carts, stays barefoot, and they are very welcoming. Please refer to the
website www.ambergriscaye.com for a complete guide to
Ambergris Caye. We also took a 15 minute boat ride to Caye Cauker (tiny island)
near Ambergris. It is very uninhabited and gorgeous. In Belize you
can get hour long massages on the beach for $50. Meals are great and often
cooked over open fire on the beach where you just go by and get a plate. We
loved it and are planning to go back again this year. If you really want to go and
make it a worthwhile trip, you need to invest in Fodor's Belize/Guatemala book.
Lots of info there. Let me know if I can give you any more information." (Kelli -
